In 1997, China Geo-Engineering Corporation signed the first Contract in East Africa, that is, the 20 Nos of Borehole Drilling at Dodoma Region, which marked the entrance of China Geo-Engineering Corporation (CGC) into the civil engineering market of Tanzania.

In 1998, China Geo-Engineering Corporation was awarded the Municipal Roads Project of Tabora and Mbeya Town, the Sewerage Improvement Project of Iringa and Mwanza Town out of the USRP 8 Municipalities’ Infrastructure Improvement Projects. Approved by the CGC Headquarters, China Geo-Engineering Corporation East Africa Office was founded the same year, and was directed to run the office on a contractual basis with Headquarters, and to keep and add the value of the invested state assets.

In the past decade, the East Africa Office has successfully completed many projects all in superior quality, among which, are Shelui-Nzega Road Upgrading Project (108km), Upgrading of Somanga-Mtandu Road Project (33km), Design and Build of Kyamyorwa-Buzirayombo Road Project (120km), Dodoma Abattoir and Meat Industry Training Centre, The Pavement Strengthening and Traffic Safety Improvement of Chalinze-Segera Road Project (125km), Reconstruction of Arusha-Namanga Road (105km), Manyoni-Issuna Road (54km) ,Design and Build of the Unity Bridge Across Rovuma River, The Construction of One Stop Border Post at Namanga and so on and so forth.

During the 19 years, CGC East Africa Office has extended itself from Tanzania to Kenya, Uganda, and etc. The fields of construction involved are Borehole-Drilling, geological reconnaissance, road and bridge, water and power supply, and factory building and Mechanical Installation.
